2010 NCAA Tournament

I am in Norfolk, Virginia for the first two rounds of the 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.

On Saturday, we left campus at noon by coach bus, and arrived at our hotel in Norfolk around 6:30 PM. Regina and I went for a walk, and then decided to have diner at Joe's Crab Shack by the hotel. The popcorn shrimp was delicious. :)

Yesterday morning, we woke up and left the hotel in search of waffles. After a five-minute walk to D'egg (a local diner), we sat down and opened up our menus only to discover that they did not serve waffles. We returned to the hotel's restaurant for their buffet breakfast. The service was sub-par, the waffles tasted more like chewy pancakes in the shape of waffles, and there was no maple syrup. After our mediocre breakfast experience, we retrieved our instruments from our hotel room, and left for the Ted Constant Convocation Center at Old Dominion University. As we were waiting for UConn to finish their game, I went across the street and purchased an orange and banana smoothie. The Temple vs. James Madison University game was a nail-biter the whole way through. Luckily, we ended up winning, and now we face UConn tomorrow night at 7 PM. After the game, I went out to dinner at Domo Japanese Restaurant with Regina, Trisha, Jeremy, and two other band members. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent.

Today Regina and I are planning on going to get our nails done and visiting an exhibit on pirates that is down the pier from our hotel.
